Wooden Baseboards
The finishing touch that defines the quality of the whole.
Certified lumber, coordinated profiles, and technical support at every stage.
The detail that stands out
The baseboard is the last element to be installed and the first to be noticed when something goes wrong. A well-chosen baseboard is visually unobtrusive, blends in with the floor and walls, and quietly fulfills its function of protection and finishing. A poorly chosen baseboard—one that is too thin for the ceiling height, in a color that clashes with the floor, or with joints that are poorly cut at the corners—stands out as a constant visual distraction in any room.
It is also an underrated technical element. The baseboard protects the base of the walls from contact with vacuum cleaners, mops, and furniture; hides the required expansion joints between the floor and the wall; and conceals minor irregularities in the plaster. In homes with floating floors, it allows the floor to move freely without creating stresses that compromise its durability.
At Beiraportal, we provide baseboards made from certified wood that coordinate with our complete line of flooring, staircases, doors, and closets. We use the same wood species (oak, beech, pine, and walnut), ensuring visual continuity throughout the home rather than a baseboard that clashes with the rest of the decor.
What Makes for a Good Choice
Three factors guide the decision: the height of the baseboard should be proportional to the ceiling height (high ceilings call for taller baseboards, while low ceilings call for more discreet ones); the profile defines the style (straight and linear for contemporary designs, molded for classic designs); and the coordination with the flooring and doors determines whether the baseboard reinforces the unity of the space or introduces an unnecessary break.
Coordination with the pavement
The main rule is simple: the baseboard should complement the flooring, not compete with it. Oak flooring calls for oak baseboards, ideally in the same shade and finish. Wood-look vinyl flooring calls for baseboards in the same color family, even if made of a different material. Contrast between the baseboard and the flooring is a valid decorative choice, but it requires a conscious decision—it doesn’t happen by chance.
We supply the baseboards together with the Beiraportal flooring, ensuring that the color and finish match are verified before construction begins.
Why wood?
Certified wood offers dimensional stability over time, the ability to be sanded and refinished rather than replaced, the absence of harmful emissions, and stable aging when used in a protected indoor setting. A wooden baseboard lasts as long as the flooring it accompanies and can be repainted or refinished several times over the life of the home. All of our wood is FSC- or PEFC-certified.

Each project requires a different profile. Learn about the available configurations.

Linear Baseboards
A straight profile with sharp edges, without moldings or decorative details. This is the most common solution in contemporary designs, where the baseboard should make a discreet statement without evoking classical references.

High Baseboards
Heights starting at 100 mm, designed for high ceilings or spacious rooms where a standard baseboard would be visually lost. It adds visual weight to the base of the walls and balances the room’s proportions.

Molded Baseboards
A profile with ornate moldings along the top, creating a play of light and shadow. A solution for classic designs, traditional homes, or restoration projects where the baseboard complements the overall decorative style.

Custom Baseboards
For projects with specific geometries, staircases with special finishes, or unique decorative requirements, we provide baseboards cut and finished according to your design. We provide support from the initial survey through the final finish.
